Updated: Jul 16

If you're sending your Samsung Galaxy in for repair or ordering parts, knowing the exact model number is crucial. This guide walks you through multiple methods to find your model—whether it’s printed in Settings, on the retail box, or inside the SIM tray. Works for all Galaxy S models including S7, S10, S20, S22, S24 and Ultra variants. Quick, accurate, and no tools required.

If you're planning to repair your phone, buy accessories, or sell it, knowing the exact model number is crucial. Phones from the same series can vary by region, specs, and parts — especially when it comes to screen replacements.

🔍 How to Find Your Model Number Samsung Galaxy S

1. In the Settings Menu (most reliable)

  1. Open Settings

  2. Go to About phone

  3. Look for Model number (e.g. SM-G991B)

The number typically starts with “SM-” followed by letters and numbers.

2. Dial Code: *#06#

On your phone keypad, dial *#06# — this brings up your IMEI information, and in many cases, the model number will appear alongside it.

3. On the Original Box

If you still have the original retail box, you’ll find a sticker on the side with important information:

  • Model number (e.g. SM-S918B)

  • IMEI numbers

  • Serial number

Note: Contrary to some outdated tips, you won’t find the model number on the SIM tray in modern Samsung phones (S7 and up). It used to be true for very old models, but not for the S Series in recent years.
