If you're planning to repair, sell, or accessorize your Apple Watch, knowing the exact model number is essential. Apple has released many different generations of the Watch, and identifying the correct model ensures compatibility and accurate service.
🔍 Where to Find the Model Number
1. On the Back of the Watch
Look at the back of your Apple Watch. Around the sensor circle (the black disk in the middle), you'll see small engraved text. Among the specs and case information, you’ll find something like Model A2861 — that’s your Watch’s model number.
2. In the Watch App (or on the Watch itself)
You can also find the model number in the software:
On your iPhone:
Open the Watch app
Tap General > About
Look for Model — tap it to switch from a part number (starting with "M") to the model number (starting with "A")
On the Watch:
Go to Settings > General > About
Tap Model and it will reveal the model number
