Knowing the exact model number of your iPhone (e.g. A3081, A2890) is essential when it comes to repairs, buying accessories, or checking compatibility. Here's how you can easily find it — even if your screen is damaged.
🔍 Method 1: Via Settings (if your screen works)
Go to Settings
Tap General > About
Look for the Model Number field
Tap the field — the actual technical model number will appear (starts with “A”, like A3101)
If the number you see first starts with M or N (e.g. MQA92B/A), that’s the retail part number. Tap it to reveal the real hardware model number (Axxxx format).
🧭 Method 2: If Your Screen Is Broken
If your display is cracked or not working, don’t worry — there’s still a way to find out your model number:
Look for the IMEI number, which is engraved on the SIM tray on most iPhones from iPhone 6 and up.
Once you find your IMEI, go to:👉 https://www.imeipro.infoand enter it to see detailed info about your device — including the model number (e.g. A3102).
This is especially helpful if the phone won’t turn on or the screen is too damaged to access settings.
🔧 Method 3: On the Back of the Phone
On older models (up to and including iPhone 8), you can find the model number engraved on the back at the bottom, under the "iPhone" logo.
